Commission A Piece of Art
Demystify the Commissioning Process
There is something very personal about an artist creating a unique piece of art for your home or office.
The Process is Easy
The commissioning experience does not have to be an intimidating or mystical experience. I am here to make the commission process as simple as possible.
Here's How It Works
- Initial contact (phone call or in-home consult, if applicable) to discuss the process and hear your vision for your piece.
- You express your specific wants/needs (sizes, colors, materials used, subject matter, photos of examples, etc.)
- I will explain what I need from you and how the process works.
- You provide me with any vision elements and any specific wants/needs desires for your piece.
- I will provide you with a concept sketch, review your wants/needs, and provide you with a price & anticipated completion proposal (any changes that differ from your original communication need to be addressed at this point).
- I send you a proposal for the piece. You then sign the contract and pay 50% (non-refundable) downpayment to guarantee the project start.
- I will provide you with updates on your project as the piece progresses.
- I will notify you of the project completion and provide you with shipping costs or schedule a delivery date.
- Upon receipt of the balance due and shipping fees, I will prepare your package for shipping and promptly forward you tracking information.
I retain the legal rights to use any images of a completed piece in the marketing of my art.
"Mike's paintings bring a little of the outdoor beauty inside to be enjoyed and received at will. I have really enjoyed his work in my home."
Valerie Hoste
"Years ago, I strolled through an exhibit of local artists. One watercolor 'pulled me in.' I was fascinated and impressed by the artist's use of color, depth, and layers of light and dark. That artist was Mike Henry."
